Instagram's come a long way from its roots as, effectively, an online photo album.
The app was first launched on iOS in 2010, and was subsequently purchased by Facebook in 2012 for what, at the time, was seen by many as a crazy price of $1 billion. At last check, Instagram, which now has more than one billion users and is worth around $100 billion. Not such a bad return on investment was it?
Instagram has certainly taken off as the social platform of choice for brands. The addition of stories and IGTV gives the user plenty of ways to interact and has generated a whole new category of marketing, the influencer.
